3G Technology Upgrade

Indian CDMA operators Sistema Shyam TeleServices and Tata Teleservices have raised the bar on wireless 3G technology broadband speeds. The two companies have launched a super high speed wireless broadband network that can transfer data at speeds up to 14.7 Mbps. This represents the fastest available wireless broadband speeds in the country, and was achieved through the deployment of EVDO Revision B CDMA technology.
The new service presents a major challenge to other 3G players in India who have invested billions in buying spectrum and are still troubleshooting their own networks. CDMA operators, by contrast, are able to use their existing spectrum to offer the faster service without the need for additional infrastructure investment. The CDMA EV-DO Revision.B Phase-I network is currently available in several other countries around the world.
